A vacancy has arisen for a B2 Administration Assistant within the Vascular Surgery Department at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust providing administrative support for Consultants, Secretary team, inpatients and outpatients.
The post holder will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude and flexible approach. The post holder will be keen to develop their knowledge and skills to meet this busy and demanding role.

The successful applicant will have excellent IT skills and preferably an NVQ level in Business Administration or relevant experience.
Previous experience of working in an administrative/clerical role is essential to this role. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member and be adaptable and flexible in a busy office environment is a must.
1. Provision of an audio typing/word processing service, producing appointment/clinic letters, and other administrative tasks for the Vascular Surgery team.
2. Respond to telephone enquiries and escalate as appropriate
3. Arrange follow up appointments for patients as requested by the team
4. Support the administrative running of the Vascular service including follow up clinics
5. Support the Vascular team with service related data collection using Microsoft Word/Excel
6. Maintain compliance with the Patient Access Policy and Divisional requirements in terms of waiting list management
