Role: Assistant Tenancy Officer
Location: Tatton Gardens, Chorley
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Fixed Term Contract (3 months)
Salary: £26,835 - £28,163

Are you looking for a new career in housing and tenancy management? We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Tenancy Officer to join our established accommodation team working across our Extra-care and Supported Accommodation sites. Providing support to our tenants and Accommodation team, you will work with the Tenancy Officer to ensure tenancy sustainment and income maximisation for both tenants and council and working closely with other agencies to provide a first class service.
What you’ll be getting up to
* Supporting the Tenancy Officer with the daily management of tenancies for all Council owned properties
* Signing new tenants up, and dealing with end of tenancy administration
* Management and processing of new applications through the application to sign-up process
* Administration of legal documents, such as Tenancy Agreements, personal and sensitive data required to manage tenancies
* Invoicing and income management and purchasing
* Customer facing duties, covering reception and building access control
* Recording rent payments
* Addressing missed payments, and arrears
* Supporting tenants to access essential services to help them manage their tenancies
* Conducting thorough pre-tenancy affordability checks
* Ensuring tenants are in receipt of all eligible benefits, ensuring income maximization to get the most value for their money in their homes.
* Supporting the Tenancy Officer in the preparation of documentation such as Notices and supporting them to serve legal notices in line with the current legislation and tenancy agreements.
* Liaising with different teams and/or organisations to ensure compliance in our homes and safety of tenants.
Who we’re looking for
* Someone who has experience of working with vulnerable adults and children
* Someone who has experience of tenancy management and enforcement
* Someone who has experience and understanding of health and safety, security, and fire precautions
* Someone who has a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable people
* Someone with good clear written and verbal communication skills
* Someone with the ability to manage your own workload and undertake prioritization to meet deadlines
* Someone who has experience with finances, income collection and benefit support
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle, insured for business use
Other Requirements
* This role requires you to regularly use a vehicle therefore you must possess a valid UK Driving Licence.
* Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
