We are currently seeking an Mechanical Apprentice to join our Cement and Packed Products Team at our Tunstead site, close to Buxton in Derbyshire for a year in industry placement. The role is easily commutable from Buxton, Macclesfield, Stockport, Dronfield, Manchester, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Leek, Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
As a Mechanical Apprentice s typical day will include:-
1. Attending college to study the academic and practical elements of the role.
2. Plenty of chance for some hands-on experience on site, where you can make your mark and become a vital part of the team, actively participating in breakdowns and planned maintenance work on the equipment and assets at our Cement Plant.
3. Life on site will involve working both inside and outside. It won’t always be glamorous and sometimes you might find yourself in a dusty or confined environment. However, your safety and health is our number one priority and full protective clothing and equipment is provided. Your colleagues are there to help and look out for each other, and safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Our Apprentice programme is a great opportunity for you to develop skills and knowledge for the future and to bring us some fresh perspectives and ideas. At the same time you will enjoy working for a large, established company, with a great range of benefits, whilst learning an important trade and gaining a recognised qualification.

The Ideal Candidate
4. 5 GCSEs, including English, Maths and Science at Grade 4 or above.
5. A practical and technical aptitude, and able to demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering, technology or science.
6. Enthusiastic about starting a career in the building materials industry!
7. Passionate about working safely.
8. A team player.
9. Willing to learn and develop.
