Salary: Circa £50,000 (depending on skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
* Helping to ensure that the INTeACT solution meets the product vision, interpreting product requirements, making and documenting high level design decisions and specifying the technical solution.
* Working on software design artefacts including: Analysis of product requirements, System and Software requirements, System specification, Internal and external interface definition, Identifying and managing technical risk, Sell-off of product requirements.
* Following and supporting the DevSecOps approach to development including:
o Assisting with the coordination of the design activity across component design and architectural features.
o Helping with identifying which elements of the design are being brought into the next Sprint(s) and ensuring that there is sufficient maturity in the design.
o Discussing emerging issues from design elaboration following new tasking within the current Sprint.
* Helping to ensure that the system and software design integrity and safety meets the required maturity and quality for the INTeACT product.
* Providing assistance for the technical assurance of engineering outputs, including detailed designs, interface specifications and qualification evidence.
* Preparing for and supporting design review assessments of the INTeACT product solution.
Your skills and experiences:
* Authoritative knowledge of systems engineering approaches, processes and procedures, with a working knowledge of Agile practices.
* A significant breadth and diversity of software engineering experience on projects or products, combined with demonstrable experience of software engineering in a systems context.
* Previous experience of the design, development and certification of open systems architecture and software intensive systems.
* Hands-on knowledge of Enterprise Architect.
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline.
* Knowledge of Safety standards including BS EN 61508, and applicable Defence Standards.

The BAE Systems Naval Ships Combat Systems Product Realisation team use cutting edge technologies to design, develop, integrate and support naval combat system products that enable navies to protect nations.
