Warehouse Manager We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to work in our rapidly growing manufacturing site in Huddersfield to lead our warehouse processes and drive operational excellence. This role offers a high level of autonomy with measurable targets and is critical to the business success. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Warehouse Manager is accountable for the leadership and management of the warehouse team and the safe and efficient operation of the businesses warehouse and yard activities. The Warehouse Manager will provide support to their direct reports through coaching and mentoring, along with assisting in all training and development needed in supporting members of their team in setting, delivering, and exceeding their objectives. Working with our Warehouse Supervisor and Team Leader, you will ensure all warehouse KPI’s are being met, whilst driving operational improvements. Being responsible for the warehouse inventory and supporting departments with floor stock, you will maintain the accurate receipt of goods in, inventory and the dispatch of all products. Responsibilities and Duties Employee engagement and Leadership: Lead by example to instil a customer-focused culture and a right first-time approach within the team. To lead, motivate and inspire the team around you to achieve well in their own roles. Coach, mentor and train individuals within the team with the mindset to consistently improve the warehouse team’s flexibility, skill set and knowledge base. Set employee goals and objectives to facilitate the business’s strategic objectives. Perform RTW, disciplinary and grievance hearings in accordance with the organisations procedures and policies. Foster and establish H&S best practice: Responsible for, supervising and maintaining warehouse disciplines, driving a culture of Health and Safety best practice including hygiene and security. Ensure all equipment used within the Inventory management functions are maintained and/or calibrated. Participation in H&S walk rounds and audits and recording and correcting of near misses, hazards, and observations in accordance with the organisations procedures and policies. Management of all warehouse activity, including: Servicing Departments: Safely service internal departments with the timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished good stock, as required. Ensure all waste is removed from production and warehouse areas in a timely manner and waste is emptied into the correct waste stream bins and collected efficiently and cost effectively. Monitor compliance: Develop, maintain, monitor, and report warehouse KPI’s. Assist the Head of Operations in the creation and roll out of procedural changes by championing innovative ideas and encouraging participation of direct reports and key stakeholders. Monthly Stock take: Lead and manage the organisations stock take process. Working closely with the production departments and senior stakeholders, manage counting disciplines to ensure speedy and accurate counting and reporting. Ensure recounts take place quickly and accurately. Produce regular stock reports to provide accurate and timely MI to Senior Management. Productivity: Responsible for the function’s daily meetings with other departments to allocate tasks and discuss workload ensuring service excellence. Maintain warehouse resources, managing and using them, ensuring costs are minimised and well controlled. Complete any ad hoc tasks on a daily or weekly basis as required, to ensure production departments maintained supplied with all required goods. Warehouse utilisation: Ensure stock is safely and correctly located with first in, first out stock rotation in place and adhered to. Management of essential warehouse materials, including pallets, wrapping materials and machinery supplies. Creation and development of KPI’s for the inventory management, Goods-in and Dispatch functions ensuring performance levels and costs are in-line with the organisation’s goals. Management of goods in & goods out: Safe and efficient container destuffing, using temporary and in-house labour. Accurate palletisation of stock received. Stock put away and allocated into correct locations. Accurate booking in of inventory with relevant documentation in place and completed to the correct standard. Ensure all requisitions are handed to purchasing within a timely manner Managing all outbound deliveries and collaborate closely with couriers to ensure safe and efficient loading, ensuring loads are secure and all relevant documentation is in place and completed to the correct standard. Yard Management: Keep the yard and external areas tidy, ensuring all waste services are accurately managed and all activities to maintain H&S standards during seasons. Ensure the safe movement and operation of HGV’s, Courier vehicles, and employee vehicles in the yards and around the site. Where required, undertake general warehouse duties, including operating forklifts and pallet trucks and other duties as directed by management
