We are seeking an experienced Manager to fulfil a full-time role. The ideal candidate will be based in Leicester but work for an Ofsted Regulated Supported Accommodation provider, working with Local Authorities across neighbouring counties, and will need to be prepared to travel. They should have proven experience of working with young people looked after or leaving care and supervising staff in a support role. The successful candidate will join the current management team and be a key player actively leading and directing staff working with service users aged 16-25 years living in the community. They will need to work with local stakeholders and drive organisation performance to deliver an outstanding service.
Minimum Requirements:
1. The post holder must be a car driver.
2. As a minimum, possess a Level 3 qualification in Children's Health and Social Care or equivalent.
3. A social work qualification and HCPC registration is desirable but not essential.
4. Experience of managing staff in a similar role is essential.
5. Must have or commence Level 5 Leadership and Management or be working towards this qualification.
6. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the following documents are essential:
1. The Children Leaving Care Act 2000
2. The Children’s Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations (Volume 3 Planning Transition to Adulthood for Care Leavers and includes The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010)
3. Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards 2023
4. Health and Social Care Act 2008
5. Care Standard Act 2000
6. Experience and knowledge of working with OFSTED and the associated regulations
7. Proven experience of identifying and managing risk including YP Risk Assessments
8. Experience of reporting and recording processes
9. Managed/supervised support workers previously
10. Comprehensive knowledge of Safeguarding/CSE issues, Ofsted notifications, and current Best Practice in relation to a multi-agency collaborative approach
11. Full UK driving licence preferred
12. Flexible to work shifts including long days and sleep-ins on a rota basis.
The role will require experience of supporting staff working with children and young people to maintain a healthy lifestyle and manage their home and finances, including supporting them to engage in education, training, or employment. The ideal candidate will also require the ability to manage staff dealing with children who sometimes present with complex needs, including risk-taking behaviours, and be willing to be on call evenings and weekends.

4. Educated to NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Health and Social Care or equivalent, including GCSE or equivalent in English;
5. Excellent Communication and report writing skills;
6. Experience and knowledge of dealing with safeguarding issues and procedures as well as complex and vulnerable children and young people;
7. Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions;
8. Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable young people;
9. Previous experience in a similar team/role.
