Reed Accountancy are delighted to be working with an outstanding client in the legal sector who are looking to hire a full-time credit controller on a permanent basis. This role is crucial for assisting with the collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable by working closely with designated partners and colleagues. The position is based in the Edinburgh office, and you will be part of a dedicated team focused on maintaining efficient credit control processes
Candidate Expectations
* Monitoring and distributing accounts receivable reports for internal and client review
* Maintaining and updating the credit control processes within the firm’s collection system, ensuring all communications are recorded appropriately.
* Arranging and attending accounts receivable review meetings with partners.
* Resolving client queries promptly and efficiently
* Reviewing client account balances to ensure timely payment of outstanding fees.
* Negotiating, resolving, and securing payment of disputed fees with clients.
* Escalating unpaid fees to debt recovery within the required timeframe.
* Collaborating closely with the billing team on revisions or amendments to invoices.
* Identifying debts requiring provision allocation.
* Adhering to strict deadlines and maintain awareness of the firm’s information security policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Experience with legal billing is advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to project a professional image of the Finance Team and the firm at all times.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Ability to build relationships at all levels and work effectively with other finance team members and the wider firm.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
