We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Tax team based in York or Bristol. The team provides expert tax services to the UK companies within the group and Aviva Investors (as manager of a range of regulated and unregulated funds), the role involves working with colleagues across multiple locations.
A bit about the job:
This role will primarily be focused on UK corporate tax compliance, reporting and advisory work. You’ll need to manage your own workload, which will include a range of items of varying size and complexity, with short-term and longer-term deadlines, monitoring progress against the plan and reprioritising as required.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the role will include:
* Preparation of company tax calculations and disclosures for internal accounting and external reporting purposes.
* Completion of statutory company tax computations and tax returns for submission to HMRC, including tax review of expenses and CTSA payments as required.
* Preparation of tax documentation and supporting information in various formats (e.g., Word/Adobe/Excel/PowerPoint).
* Data analysis and periodic data validation to source systems to ensure completeness and accuracy.
* Application of data analytics, automation techniques, and relevant software to achieve process improvements and automation, and supporting the tax compliance, reporting and advisory deliverables of the Aviva UK Tax team as required.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* The successful candidate will be either an accountant, part qualified tax professional, or otherwise comparably qualified by experience (gained either in industry or in practice).
* UK corporate tax compliance and reporting experience is ideal but not essential as training and support will be provided.
* You will be a team player with an open, collaborative, and proactive approach, willing to test new ideas and embrace change, looking for opportunities to identify and address key issues and simplify existing processes.
* Strong capabilities in MS Office applications, particularly in MS Excel, are essential, as is good experience of creating and editing documents.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Salary: circa £35,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
