Procurement and Lettings Solutions OfficersJob IntroductionJob Title: Procurement & Letting Solutions Officer Salary Range: £36,426 - £42,855 per annumFixed Term (12 Months) Fulltime Location: Bridas House second floor, 90 Putney Bridge Road, London, SW18 1HROther essential information: Driving license desirable Objective of role Your key priorities will be to procure private sector accommodation to aid in the prevention & relief of homelessness by providing applicants with housing opportunities in the private sector, delivering a healthy supply of affordable private lettings & long-term leased temporary accommodation. This will involve building relationships with landlords, agents, and developers alike to encourage take-up of the Council’s Leasing and Lettings Schemes. In addition, you will be managing a key project which oversees the inspection of all nightly paid accommodation across both boroughs, ensuring residents are occupying safe properties & identifying potential voids for re-let or hand back in line with our Temporary Accommodation Reduction strategy.About the role This role involves the procurement of private sector properties, offering landlords and agents the opportunity to let or lease their property to Richmond & Wandsworth Councils, whilst delivering a high-quality customer experience comparative to a private letting agency. You will lead in the management of a key project overseeing the inspection of all nightly paid accommodation across both boroughs, identifying vacant properties, ensuring that nightly accommodation is compliant with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and offering value to both boroughs. We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual, with strong negotiation skills, an in-depth knowledge of the private rented sector & experience of completing property inspections with a view to improving conditions. Experience of project management will be beneficial but not essential however a proven record of delivering positive outcomes & overseeing complex tasks is needed. You will be based in Wandsworth however will be required to work across both boroughs & work from the Richmond office where required.Essential Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceWe are looking for a hard-working experienced housing professional with specific private sector experience, possessing strong communication and negotiation skills.
