A leading global motor vehicle manufacturer is seeking to engage an EU-based privacy counsel on a full-time (40 hours per week), contract basis for an initial 6-month term.
The Data Protection Advisor will be instrumental in enhancing data governance, compliance, and assurance. This individual will be responsible for developing and refining internal data protection processes, providing expert advice on data privacy matters, and driving collaboration across teams. Key responsibilities include leading compliance activities, managing data processing agreements, and ensuring adherence to regulations such as the GDPR. The candidate must be located in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and improve internal processes for data risk management, governance, compliance, and assurance.
* Provide expert advice on data protection matters to various projects and business operations.
* Foster collaboration between Ford Credit and Ford of Europe to achieve data protection objectives.
* Lead compliance activities, including DPIAs and maintaining the Register of Data Processing Activities.
* Review and implement data processing agreements.
Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of European data privacy regulations, particularly the GDPR.
* Proven project management skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management abilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* 4+ years of experience as a privacy subject matter expert, preferably in a large organization.
* Privacy Certification (e.g., CIPP/E).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in contract management, specifically data protection agreements.
* Experience advising on related data privacy and emerging technology legislation (e.g., ePrivacy Directive, AI Act, EU Data Act).
* Experience working in a multinational company.
