As the result of the continued expansion of their client base, a leading Scottish commercial law firm is looking to welcome an additional Solicitor to the non-contentious construction team.
The team is working on numerous matters requiring non-contentious construction expertise, including some of the highest value projects in Scotland. They advise a wide range of clients in the private and public sectors, on projects in the fields of health, energy, education, real estate and many others. They work closely with other teams within the firm, notably the contentious construction and projects teams, and provides construction support to the real estate and banking teams.
This role brings with it real prospects for progression to a senior (or more senior) level.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advising clients on construction contracts, including the drafting and negotiation of SBCC/JCT Building Contracts, NEC Engineering and Construction Contracts, development agreements, professional team appointments, sub-contracts, bonds and guarantees, and collateral warranties.
They are flexible on the level of PQE and would be willing to consider candidates with anything from 2 years' experience of non-contentious construction upwards.
The key qualification and experience requirements are a thorough understanding of construction law and a high level of familiarity with construction contracts typically encountered in the Scottish legal market. They would be particularly interested in candidates who have significant experience of the NEC3 / NEC4 forms of contract.
The role could be based from Edinburgh or Glasgow and also offers hybrid working alongside a competitive basic salary and generous benefits package.
