Paediatric Respiratory Sister

Band: 6 £37,338 - £44,962 Per annum, pro rata if part time
Hours: Fixed Term/ Secondment, Full time, 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
This is an exciting opportunity within the paediatric respiratory service for experienced and enthusiastic band 6 Registered Nurses.
We have the following hours available within our Paediatric Respiratory Team:
• Fixed Term (12 months) - Part time or full time will be considered
• Substantive Position - 14.5 hours per week
The successful candidates will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, to provide education, expert advice, and high-quality care to support diagnosis and management of children and young people with respiratory conditions such as Asthma, but also helping to educate, support and develop other health care professionals, both in the hospital and community setting.
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and flexible Registered Children’s Nurse who has experience working at band 5 level.
The applicant must be able to work autonomously on their own initiative, be excellent communicators, hardworking, and display a passion for the care of respiratory patients.

To provide care, support, advice, and education both in the hospital and community for children and young people with respiratory conditions.
To work in conjunction with Ward 4, Ward 5, PED and the children's primary care team to ensure further support and education is received from hospital to home for children who have been discharged with a respiratory illness. To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for these children whilst working in collaboration with all In-patient areas, providing nursing advice and support to other health professionals relating to respiratory practice.
