Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust hosts the Regional Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit. The CF Unit is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence and provides full-time care for over 400 adults with CF. There is a state-of-the-art inpatient ward at St James's Hospital, dedicated day unit facilities at Seacroft Hospital, and a well-established, high-quality home care service.
The unit continues to be at the forefront of clinical research. Our portfolio includes clinical trials and grant-funded research focusing on medical informatics (first paperless service in the UK), drug allergy, adherence, inflammation, and infection.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will manage and lead diabetes care in people with CF, providing high-quality, evidence-based, individualised care and treatment in community, outpatient, and inpatient settings. A key component of the role will be working alongside the multi-disciplinary team to develop and establish this new role.
The successful applicant will act as a resource offering specialist advice, support, and education to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals. You will be responsible for contributing to and leading the ongoing development of diabetes clinical practice.

Qualifications Essential
* Registered Nurse (Level 1)
* Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
* Post registration qualification in diabetes
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Willing to undergo training as necessary

* Extended/Supplementary prescribing
Experience Essential
* Experience at Sister/Charge Nurse level or equivalent within speciality
* Highly developed specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience
