Staff Nurse in Emergency Department - Band 5

The department sees in excess of 52,000 patients per annum, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, working closely with other acute trusts in the North West. A new refurbishment of the emergency department has recently been completed.
What we can offer?
* A structured induction programme to the Emergency Department with on-going supervision supported by our Training & Development Facilitator. You will be helped to develop your skills and progress through the National Curriculum and Competency Framework for Emergency Nurses.
* Possibilities of long-term career progression within the Department with plans to develop pathways to the role of Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP).
* Funded training for courses such as Advanced Life Support (ALS), Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) & in association with the Critical Care Unit, the Safe Critically Ill Transfer Training (SCITT).
We welcome full time, flexible and part time applications from those with a genuine interest in Emergency Nursing. Although relevant post-registration experience would be preferred, a caring, compassionate, patient-centred approach are the most important qualities for us. Hours per week: 37.50 (part time hours also considered)
Main duties of the job
The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.

Unfortunately, we cannot support an application for OSCE. The temporary NMC pin is also not acceptable; the full NMC pin is required. We also cannot accept any other registration from another country; it must be a UK NMC pin.

Qualifications
* Current first level registration in General / Adult Nursing.
* Experience in area of specialism.
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

* Demonstrate evidence-based decision making.
Skills
* Ability to delegate safely.

Experience
* Experience of using a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
