We’re looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join an innovative team, working on bespoke engineering solutions for world leading clients.
This role is onsite 5 days a week.
About the Role
As a Controls Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the commissioning, optimisation, and improvement of advanced automated systems. You’ll work closely with a team of skilled engineers to deliver creative, practical solutions that meet unique customer needs.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Programming and tweaking control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and robotics.
* Troubleshooting and fine-tuning mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
* Diagnosing faults and performing operational assessments to keep things running smoothly.
* Finding opportunities to improve systems and making recommendations to the team.
* Testing and documenting results to ensure future progress and innovation.
* Working hands-on with systems at customer sites, including travel across the UK and abroad.
About You
We’re looking for someone who loves a challenge and thrives in a hands-on, technical environment. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
* Solid experience with PLC programming and HMI software (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar).
* Knowledge of servo drives, VFDs, and industrial networks like Ethernet or Profibus.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret technical schematics.
* Bonus points if you’ve worked with robotics (especially 6-axis systems).
* Great communication skills and a proactive, team-focused mindset.
* Educated within Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline.
