Outreach and Access Officer (STEM)
Are you passionate about widening participation in STEM and inspiring the next generation of scientists? We're seeking an enthusiastic Outreach and Access Officer to join our client's dynamic team.
The Role
As an Outreach and Access Officer, you will:
Deliver engaging STEM outreach activities to students aged 11-16
Inspire young people to pursue higher education in STEM subjects
Break down barriers for disadvantaged students entering higher education
Collaborate with academics to develop new outreach sessions
Cover a wide range of STEM subjects, from Agriculture to Speech and Language Therapy
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver talks and taster sessions on STEM subjects and university courses
Work with academic colleagues to create innovative outreach activities
Inform students about progression pathways to university
Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures
Conduct risk assessments for events and activities

The Ideal Candidate
Degree in a STEM subject
Knowledge of widening participation in higher education
Experience in outreach or working with young people
Passion for inspiring others about STEM subjects
Strong communication and presentation skills
What We Offer
Salary: £29,605 per annum
Full-time, contract position
Start date: Late July 2025
Location: Dartford or Maidstone, Kent

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check with child barred list. The successful candidate will undergo safeguarding training and follow all relevant policies.
