* Salary: £51802- £57645

Shape the future of child protection practice
Walsall is implementing the Families First Programme, based on the National Children's Social Care Review and Stable Homes Built on Love. To do this we are creating a combined, multi-agency locality Family Help Service, with locality social workers supported by Lead Child Protection Practitioners.
About the job:
This role offers you the opportunity to work alongside a team of Lead Child Protection Practitioners to shape the future of child protection practice in Walsall. Your creative and innovative approach to working with families and our multi-agency partners will be the catalyst for bringing about change locally and nationally.
This role will see you manage a team of non-case holding experienced social workers, who independently support child protection practice across our localities in Walsall, providing their expertise and knowledge to ensure a cohesive multi-agency response to support children and their families.
You will utilize your experience to create a team of dynamic practitioners who will take the role of lead decision-makers for child protection decisions in Strategy Meetings, Section 47 Enquiries, and Child Protection Conferences, ensuring that multi-agency working is at the heart of each aspect of practice.
You will have the opportunity to re-write child protection practice, ensuring partnership and collaboration are central to our work.
About you:
Are you an experienced Child Protection Conference chair, Team manager, or practice supervisor?
Have you ever wondered if we could support families within the child protection arena differently?
Are you innovative and motivated to improve outcomes for children and families?
If you have answered yes to the above questions, this role will offer you the opportunity to build new foundations and practice approaches while developing a cohesive multi-agency child protection offer.
Our Offer:
We are committed to manageable workloads, high support from managers, essential paperwork only, enabling technologies, and all social workers, including Lead Child Protection Practitioners, will receive training in Systemic Family Practice.
Wellbeing is at the heart of our work. We offer specialized clinical supervision, a 9-day fortnight to support work/life balance, flexible working, and specialist employee assistance and therapeutic support when needed. We aim to make social work a career people want to stay in.
We are committed to anti-discrimination and equality and to developing a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
