Job summary This is a full time position as a student to undertake the practical knowledge and training as part of the Post Graduate Specialist Community Public Health Nursing course to qualify you as a School Nurse. You will work as part of the Integrated Specialist Public Health Nursing Team, assisting with supporting families by delivering packages of care under the direction of the Integrated Specialist Public Health Nurse (0-19yrs), in the home and in community settings including for example Children Centres and Early Years Settings Main duties of the job To lead and present complex, sensitive and challenging clinical and professional communication processes that may impact on children, their carers, staff, the team, the organisation, partner agencies and members of the public, where there are barriers to understanding To communicate complex information in partnership with the child, their carers and other agencies: Primary Care, Secondary Care, Local Authority, Voluntary and Independent Sector. This will involve using inter-personal skills where agreement or co-operation, reassurance, empathy is required e.g. clinical assessment To support the specialist nurse, peers, other colleagues, patients/clients and provide effective communication within the team/unit.
