Role – Production Operative - Control Panel Wire person (experienced/trainee considered) Location – Coventry Purpose of the Role: The position requires a competent and highly motivated hands-on team player to ensure the Company’s products are built in an efficient and timely manner in compliance with designs and specifications provided and to production schedules. What you will be doing: Ensure that work practices comply with the requirement of Health and Safety at Work Act and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy. To understand and comply with the Company Business Management System, Quality Manual, Company Procedures and Standards relating to Production tasks. Undertake the mechanical assembly and copper work (where applicable) and the wiring of equipment, in accordance with instructions. Check issued items comply with job parts lists. Report problems, errors, shortages to Production Management. Prepare finished equipment for dispatch. Load / unload vehicles as required, in accordance with Safe Working Practices and applying absolute care and vigilance. As and when required, to attend site and assist with site-based activities, such as installation (UK wide). Liaise and communicate effectively with all site and other personnel, always upholding the Company Culture and Values. Lead excellent working practices, including: Health, safety & environmental compliance. Data protection & information security. Customer focus. Team Behavior. Housekeeping. Continuous improvement. Compliance with the Company’s Business Quality Management System. Assume other responsibilities as required and work with colleagues to further the best possible performance of the Company. About you: Essential: Ability to interpret electrical drawing. Ability to meet production schedule within time allowed. Ability to meet and wherever possible exceed quality with zero defects or errors. At least 6 months experience in a similar role. Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety in the Workplace. Desirable: A good understanding of control panel manufacture. Site working experience. Experience of Continuous Improvement. Attainments: GCSE above grade ‘C’ in English, Maths and Science. City and Guilds level 2) in Electrical Engineering. Qualified to current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations. Other Aptitudes: A passion for delivering customer service excellence in a cost-effective way. Strong time management skills and motivation – ability to work using own initiative, to deadlines and constraints. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats to internal and external environments Positive and enthusiastic attitude to technical challenges, and flexibility to cope effectively with changes to specifications or priorities. Ability to work and contribute effectively within a team. Commitment to own personal professional development.
