Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance. The role involves delivering high-quality care to clients in their own home. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you support, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
Duties
1. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
2. Provide meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
3. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
4. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
5. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with challenging behaviours.
6. Assist with heavy lifting and mobility support for clients with physical limitations.
7. Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia or those requiring hospice care.
8. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
1. Previous experience in patient care or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
2. Knowledge of dementia care principles and hospice care practices is advantageous.
3. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
4. Strong communication skills and the ability to build a rapport with clients and their families.
5. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
6. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
7. Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
