KS1 Teaching Assistant – SEN Support (Autism Focus) Location: Liverpool Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full Academic Year (until July 2026) Working Arrangement: Agency Contract via Teaching Personnel Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Liverpool to recruit a dedicated and compassionate KS1 Teaching Assistant. This role will be full-time and focused on supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), primarily Autism, who requires both emotional and additional learning support. The Role: You will be working on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 pupil, supporting their individual needs throughout the school day. Your role will be crucial in helping the pupil access learning, regulate emotions, and feel secure and supported in their environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in a child’s educational journey. Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent, nurturing support to a KS1 pupil with Autism. Implement strategies in line with the pupil’s EHCP and liaise with SENCO and class teacher regularly. Support emotional regulation and encourage social interaction through tailored activities. Adapt classroom tasks and instructions to ensure accessibility. Monitor and record progress, contributing to review meetings when required. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children with Autism or other SEN needs (essential). A calm, patient and empathetic nature. Understanding of emotional regulation strategies and sensory needs. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential. Able to commit for the full academic year (September 2025 – July 2026).
