Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate that they can work as part of a team, have very good communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
1. The registered Nursing Associate will work as part of the Nursing workforce supporting Registered Nurses to deliver high quality, person centred, compassionate care to patients.
2. They will be part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering planned care to a group of patients working within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
3. They will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/ guidance to less experienced staff/ learners within the clinical environment as needed and delegate care if appropriate.
4. To promote the health and wellbeing of patients.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Knowledge
1. Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
2. Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation.
3. IT skills for email, online staff record and learning system, clinical ordering systems, patient record systems.
4. A good understanding of Community Nursing.
5. Demonstrates understanding of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing interdisciplinary team, and organisation.
6. Understanding of the importance of following procedures and care plans.
7. Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
8. Experience of administering prescribed medicines safely and appropriately.
9. Understanding or application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area.
10. A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area.
Experience
1. Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Experience of working with patients to promote their physical and mental wellbeing through health promotion.
3. Demonstrable experience of working within the service area.
4. Experience of using SystmOne.
Skills and Competencies
1. Evidence of effective inter-personal communication skills.
2. Development of supportive relationships with patients, carers and other professionals.
