You will join a committed and experienced team of midwives who work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team within the Delivery Suite based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
You will provide both high risk and low risk care to the birthing people and families within the Delivery Suite. With approx. 5900 births per year, there is an opportunity to be actively involved in a number of improvement projects which are shaping our services for the future as one of the pilot sites for the 'Better Births' choice agenda.
Main duties of the job
It is an exciting time for our service and we would love you to join our team of Delivery Suite Midwives and help us to shape our services to support new parents' choice in place of birth. We offer a comprehensive orientation package, covering all aspects of our service. You will have support from our excellent team of Midwives throughout this period.
You will need to have completed a preceptorship programme and achieved midwifery competencies such as cannulation, water birth, and suturing.

Person Specification
Qualification
* RM and eligible to practice.
* Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills.
* To have obtained or be studying at diploma level.
Experience/Knowledge
* Sound knowledge of recent Government/Professional documents with awareness of implications to service provision.
* Able to demonstrate motivation to maintain professional development.
* Ability to work within acute and primary health care settings.
* Previous community and hospital experience.
* Ability to use flexible innovative approaches to practice tailored to meet the clients' individual needs.
* Knowledge of change management theories and their impact.
Skills
* Able to recognise own limitations in order to seek advice appropriately.
* Ability to act effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. Ensuring collaboration across professional boundaries.
