Job Description
* Supporting procurement procedures within the business to ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Assisting in the negotiation of supplier contracts to achieve favourable terms.
* Working closely with cross-functional teams to determine procurement needs and specifications.
* Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
* Maintaining accurate supplier and product records within procurement databases.
* Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to replenish stocks as needed.
* Resolving issues and discrepancies with orders and invoices.
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Buyer should have:
* Prior experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the industrial / manufacturing sector.
* Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* A detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skills.
* Able to commute to Lichfield 3 days per week.
* Can work well in a team.
