About us
Energy Systems Catapult is an independent research and technology organisation. Our mission is to accelerate Net Zero energy innovation.
Launched in 2015 by Innovate UK, the Catapult has built a team of more than 250 people, with a range of technical, engineering, consumer, commercial, incubation, digital and policy expertise. They draw on sector-leading test facilities, modelling tools, and data collected from our back catalogue of more than 500 research projects.
We use that 'whole energy' system capability to support innovative companies - small and large – to test, trial and scale their new products and services. Our impact comes when those innovators attract new customers, new investment and new grants so they can thrive in the future energy system.
Based in Birmingham, Energy Systems Catapult is part of a network of nine, world-leading technology and innovation centres, established by Innovate UK. The Catapult Network fosters collaboration between industry, government, research organisations, academia, and many others to transform great ideas into valuable products and services.
We believe that innovation often stems from connecting different areas and ideas, and that working together in person can be an important enabler for that. We therefore expect people to be in the Birmingham office ~40 days/year (roughly one day per week).
Context
At the Energy Systems Catapult, we devise innovative solutions to some of the toughest challenges facing the energy sector. We look for growth opportunities created by the transition of the energy system: one of the greatest market opportunities in the coming decades, as well as one of the most urgent issues for society.
Transitioning to a low-carbon energy system to meet the 2050 Net Zero target is one of the most complex challenges ever faced. Consumers are at the heart of this transition and understanding their needs and engaging with them to develop innovative and attractive solutions is key. This is especially true for the low income and vulnerable groups in society who are in danger of being left behind in the transition to a low carbon, Net Zero future. At the Catapult, we have developed numerous products and services that are being scaled up to meet the needs of this client group. We therefore need an Account Manager to assist in this scaling.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Relationship Management: identify, develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders in client organisations, specifically within the UK NHS and healthcare sector. Including working with NHS procurement & commissioning teams to ensure referrals can be made by frontline clinical staff to patients.
* Account Development: Identify growth opportunities within new and assigned accounts (primarily NHS trusts), developing account plans to enhance service delivery and ensure client satisfaction.
* Commercials: Manage contract negotiations, onboard accounts, manage performance and renewals, ensuring all client agreements are up-to-date and beneficial for both parties.
* Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, NHS policies, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights that contribute to business development.
* Performance Reporting: Monitor account performance metrics and provide regular reporting to clients and management, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
* Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars to build relationships and promote our services.
* Project Coordination: Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of services and products, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
You will be working very closely with the Catapult's Product and business development teams and external supply chain partners. Other duties may be required to be conducted to support the sales and marketing teams such as attendance at demos or conferences and events.
What credentials are we ideally looking for?
* Proven experience selling into the UK healthcare sector, particularly working with NHS commissioners, partnerships with the healthcare sector and managing health care contracts.
* A robust network of contacts within the healthcare industry, including primary and secondary care.
* Experience of working to and exceeding targets and deadlines.
* Strong understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including policies, procedures, and challenges faced by healthcare providers.
* Proven success in delivering value within a competitive market through customer account management.
* Experience of building and managing relationships simultaneously with multiple key stakeholders, suppliers and partners.
* Ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Ability to think strategically, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing client needs.
* A "can do" attitude and are comfortable with the hands-on work and flexibility required in a small team.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
* Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
