A school we represent in Cheltenham needs a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
This is a 1-1 role with a year 1 child with the following timings:
8.45 – 11.45
Lunch break – 11.45-12.15
12.15-3.15
The pupil is currently on a highly adapted curriculum but working at age-related expectations. At times they can be reluctant to engage and will need support and reassurance to be part of lessons.
This will include lone working at times, with lots of support as and when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support with manual handling, care, changing, and feeding.
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each child’s development.
* Engage in physically active tasks to support students’ needs.
Requirements:
* Proven experience working with children and/or adults with special educational needs in the UK.
* Experience in manual handling, care, changing, and feeding.
* A proactive and resilient attitude.
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
