About the role: As a Humanities Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to explore the complexities of the world around them. Your role will involve fostering a love for learning, encouraging analytical thinking and developing students’ understanding of key historical, geographical and ethical issues. Responsibilities of the Humanities Teacher: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in History, Geography, or Religious Studies, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum. Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic development. Differentiate instruction to cater to students with varying abilities and learning needs. Encourage critical thinking, debate and discussion to develop students’ analytical and reasoning skills. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the humanities curriculum and contribute to extracurricular activities. Maintain excellent classroom management and uphold the school’s behaviour policies. Requirements of the Humanities Teacher: A UK-recognised teaching qualification (QTS, or equivalent). A degree in Humanities or a related subject. Proven experience teaching History, Geography, or Religious Studies at the secondary level. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students. A passion for education and a commitment to fostering students' curiosity and academic growth. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
