Role Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities on clean and wastewater treatment projects. The role focuses on testing, validating, and ensuring optimal performance of electrical systems, including SCADA systems, control panels, and electrical distribution equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, including process, mechanical, and operations personnel, to ensure efficient commissioning processes and full regulatory compliance. This contract role offers a competitive daily rate of up to £450, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Commissioning: Lead and execute commissioning for electrical systems supporting clean and wastewater treatment, covering equipment start-up, functional testing, and performance validation. System Optimization: Identify and implement optimization opportunities for electrical systems to enhance performance, safety, and reliability. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive commissioning documents, including method statements, risk assessments, and final commissioning reports, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Collaborative Integration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including process engineers, project managers, and site operators, to achieve project milestones on time and within budget. Testing & Validation: Conduct functional tests and system checks to verify electrical system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with design specifications. Compliance: Ensure commissioning activities meet all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Coordinate with regulatory bodies as needed for adherence to water industry standards. Training & Handover: Provide operational training on electrical systems to site personnel, facilitating a smooth handover to operational teams. Continuous Improvement: Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in design and commissioning processes, contributing to best practices across future projects. Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years in electrical commissioning within the water treatment sector, with a focus on both clean and wastewater treatment facilities. Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications. Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems in water treatment, including SCADA/DCS control systems and electrical distribution. Familiarity with equipment such as pumps, control panels, and variable frequency drives. Understanding of UK water industry standards and health & safety regulations. Problem-Solving: Proven skills in troubleshooting electrical systems and optimizing performance. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for producing clear technical reports and documentation. Collaboration: Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with contractors and stakeholders.
