The York Online programmes are 100% online Masters programmes, delivered by the University in collaboration with an external partner (HEP UK). Based in Student Education and Experience, the York Online Support Team provides professional service support for the delivery of our growing portfolio of online programmes, and is responsible for providing effective and specialised administrative support both for students studying on the York Online programmes and for the academic staff who are involved in the programmes’ delivery.
Role
As part of the Student Experience team, you will work closely with academic colleagues and our external partner, Higher Ed Partners (HEP), to manage the student journey from enrolment to graduation. Working with the wider team, you will track our c.2800 students to support academic staff planning and ensure students are given the best advice on their trajectory. You will support the enrolment process, six times a year, responding to student issues and questions. You will also lead on the development of a student community and student representation processes, working with academic colleagues and the students’ unions.
Collaboration and relationship building is key to this role, as is a strong attention to detail and commitment to the student experience. This is a busy and varied role supporting large numbers of students, from all over the world and a variety of backgrounds. We are committed to excellence and work in a fast-moving environment. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
* A thorough understanding of the principles of service provision and office management within a large, complex organisation.
* Knowledge of the student lifecycle.
* Ability to provide detailed advice and guidance on specialist defined processes and procedures to internal and external contacts.
* Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing competing priorities and maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
* Demonstrable initiative and problem solving skills.
* Able to work under pressure and on own initiative.
* Demonstrable ability to work as part of a team.
* Able to deal with confidential matters and act with discretion.
* Ability to supervise the work of others i.e. allocate work and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
