Role Overview: The successful candidate will collaboratively work with colleagues to provide expert advice and build strong relationships with existing and potential clients on general corporate finance matters. This includes a wide range of activities such as disposals, acquisitions, fundraisings, and mergers. Additionally, the role entails generating business by developing and selling innovative ideas to clients. Key Responsibilities: Act as an ambassador for Investec Bank plc in all internal and external engagements. Serve as a positive cultural flag bearer within the business, particularly with Associates, Analysts, and Graduates in the PLC Advisory team, encouraging adherence to company standards. Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients. Lead the preparation of client proposals and pitches for new business. Assist in leading the client team to successfully execute transactions for clients and potential clients. Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Develop, market, and sell new business ideas to clients or potential clients. Identify, target, and acquire new clients. Maintain up-to-date sector knowledge and commercial awareness. Understand and promote Investec's broader capabilities. Ensure all communications with clients, intermediaries, and business contacts are accurately captured in the CRM system. Core Skills and Knowledge: In-depth, practical knowledge of all applicable rules and regulations, primarily related to the FCA. Commitment to acting with integrity and embracing the philosophy of treating clients fairly. Ability to develop and build relevant market, sector, and technical knowledge. Strong understanding of financial analysis, valuation, and modelling techniques. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation solutions. Effective interaction with internal and external clients, including other advisors, for business generation and execution. Competent in using relevant IT applications. Skilled in assessing, coaching, and developing client team members. Key Stakeholders: Private Equity Client Group, Private Company Client Group, and Listed Client Group. Business Enablers (operations, technology, finance, compliance, risk, etc.). International businesses of Investec, including Capitalmind. Third-party partnerships (e.g., Blackarch / Regions Bank).
