We are excited to be partnering with a well-established, owner-operated contract catering company renowned for its excellent customer service and focus on locally sourced, fresh food. Specialising in the Education, Business & Industry, and Care sectors, this company has earned a stellar reputation.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to join this dynamic team. Initially, you will manage 8 schools, with plans to expand to 15 schools as you gain more experience and knowledge of the business. As Area Manager, you’ll report to a supportive and experienced Operations Manager while playing a key role in the day-to-day operations. Your passion for food, service, and building strong client relationships will be essential in driving the success of the contracts under your management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple school sites within Derbyshire (this will expand in time to other areas within the East Midlands).
2. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, particularly within the education sector.
3. Lead, support, and motivate multi-site teams to achieve excellence in service delivery.
4. Ensure adherence to company policies and processes while maintaining a flexible and non-corporate approach.
5. Act as the key point of contact between clients, teams, and Head Office functions including HR, Accounts, and Purchasing.
6. Monitor and report on site performance, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.
7. Solve problems quickly and efficiently to maintain smooth operational flow.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Proven experience in a multi-site/multi-client role within contract catering, ideally with experience in the education sector (primary schools preferred).
2. Passion for fresh food and delivering exceptional service.
3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams across different sites.
4. Excellent communication skills, both internally and with clients.
5. Strong financial acumen and the ability to produce detailed reports.
6. A natural problem solver who is hands-on and visible in the business.
7. A genuine interest in supporting the development of others.
