Casual Passenger Assistant required for home to day care establishment/school/college transport You will accompany drivers in vehicles with passengers attending home to day care establishment/school/college, some of whom may have special educational, complex health needs or mobility problems and may be transported in wheelchairs. You will be responsible for the boarding and alighting of passengers, the securement of wheelchairs ensuring the correct restraint is used etc.. and that all passengers are transported legally and safely. You will work as part of a team with the Driver, and you will require excellent communication skills for dealing with face to face service users/parents/carers as well as professionals.
Successful candidates will be required to complete the Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (PATS) course and satisfactorily complete a period of job shadowing.
Permanent positions are recruited initially from those who are casual. In general the hours are over a split shift with an outgoing journey in the mornings and a return journey in the afternoons.
