Employment basis: 6-month contract (rolling)

Role Summary:
The main purpose of the role is to collect, analyse, design and manage the development of the Wiring Harness based on customer requirements under consideration of all engineering specifications, cost, quality and timing as well as environmental aspects.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and 3D drafting in Catia V6 according to customer specifications
2. 3D design data management on the customer system
3. Package investigations and development of solutions to EDS related package issues
4. Adhere to Customer specifications and requirements while developing designs
5. Adhere to internal specifications and requirements while developing designs
6. Time critical implementation of design changes during all program development phases
7. Review designs with customer manufacturing team to ensure feasibility for installation into vehicle
8. Ensure EDS routing and package design is compatible with vehicle environment
9. Check 2D drawings are in-line with the planned design prior to release
10. Support design reviews at company and customer locations
11. Identify, track and resolve EDS design and manufacturing issues
12. Generate, review and evaluate potential cost reduction ideas
13. Carry out CAD assembly investigations together with the responsible project engineers
14. Participate in packaging, VE meetings
Requirements:
1. +3 years of experience designing automotive wiring harnesses
2. University degree in electrical, mechanical or automotive engineering, or equivalent experience
3. Previous practical design experience from an automotive background
4. Proficient CAD experience using Catia V6 and the electrical work bench
5. Previous proven experience with designing/draughting All types of Harnesses (HV, 48V, 12V and comms)
6. Extensive experience with working to SDS, design guidelines
7. Working knowledge of DVP, FMEA and APQP
8. Vehicle assembly process, especially EDS related aspects
9. Solid experience of working with, or design of, vehicle electrical systems
10. Knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic system function
11. Understanding of EDS design and development process
12. Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Projects
13. Fluent in English
14. Full Driving Licence
15. Right to work in the UK - Valid Passport
