The role of Solicitor is to assist in the management of the Legal areas within Link Financial Outsourcing (“LFO”). This role forms part of the Legal & Compliance function, reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, working with the Senior Management Team and wider business to fulfil objectives. This entails working with operations areas of the firm as well as other legal departments in the LC Financial Holdings group. The job holder will ensure that a strong legal culture exists within the firm and champion this to all internal and external stakeholders. They must ensure that the Firm is protected from all threats of non-compliance with both local and international regulations and laws. Key Responsibilities The job holder will be primarily responsible for legal contract reviews for all areas of LFO, including debt purchase, Back up Servicing and Primary Servicing business contracts with clients. Provide legal advice and guidance on company strategies and initiatives and their implementation as required. Manage the relationship with the LFO’s legal advisors and have oversight of any potential and ongoing litigation claims against LFO. Be the key legal contact for the business with representative bodies in the industry. Understand the specific legislation impacting on LFO and any upcoming legislation that may impact on it. Review and maintain compliance and legal policies as required. We would be looking for the following skills/qualifications: Educated to degree level and with post qualification experience as a solicitor in the UK Experience of commercial contract drafting Self-starter able to work independently Strong organisational skills Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills Ability to engage, communicate and present at all levels to a high degree of literacy and fluidity Excellent presentation and report writing skills Preferred: Good industry knowledge and experience of best practice, legislation and Codes of Conduct in Financial Services, particularly relating to the rules and regulations of the Financial Conduct Authority for Consumer Credit businesses. Knowledge of the debt purchase and collections industry Experience of the legal framework for debt purchase and financial services outsourcing Other Role Information Hours of work: Full time permanent contract 40 hours per week paid monthly. Based in the London or Caerphilly office but expected to be flexible in terms of hours, travel, and place of work to achieve goals in line with the seniority of the role. The role will have no direct reports.
