Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our well established team of Matrons within the Division of Surgery, Women's and Children's Services. You will support the Critical Care portfolio, consisting of a 12-bedded ICU/HDU area and the Critical Care Outreach Team in the delivery of excellent, compassionate care whilst maintaining high professional standards.

You will work in collaboration with the speciality triumvirate to provide assurance of quality and safety for our patients and the theatre environment and lead the team to deliver improvements and innovations in practice.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse, and have a post-registration Critical Care qualification and experience in an acute hospital setting.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
* RN
* Post registration Adult Critical Care Nursing Award.
* First degree of relevant experience.
* Evidence of on-going CPD at relevant level.
* Management Diploma or equivalent experience.
* Leadership qualification or equivalent level of experience.
Desirable
* Master's Degree or working towards.
Experience and Experience
Essential
* Extensive post registration experience including proven track record of senior operational/service management experience in the NHS in relation to acute in-patient/out-patient services.
* Experience of working within Critical Care environment.
* Positive experience of change management within an acute in-patient/out-patient setting.
* Experience of working with a range of IT systems.
Desirable
* Experience of business planning and preparation of business cases.

* Good understanding and knowledge of NHS Performance Targets, CQC fundamentals of care.
