WHAT TO EXPECT
The purpose of the role is to ensure that suppliers deliver parts to the plant on time to the latest material requirements schedule. You will be responsible for identifying risks to supply of parts and formulate plans to mitigate against them. The role requires ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained while minimising cost. You will lead a team of people to manage suppliers worldwide.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of parts.
2. Collaborating with procurement, transport, material fulfilment and manufacturing to support the delivery process.
3. Identifying potential risks in the supply chain and developing strategies to mitigate them.
4. Using data to manage inventory, and optimize supply chain processes.
5. Ensuring that inventory levels are maintained to meet customer demand without overstocking.
6. Monitoring and controlling costs associated with the supply chain to ensure budget adherence.
7. Leading a team of analysts to achieve delivery targets and improve performance.
WHAT YOU NEED
1. Previous experience of supply chain management.
2. Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management.
3. Proven ability to work within tight deadlines & be able to manage and prioritise multiple activities simultaneously.
4. A strong communicator with good negotiation and presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas and problems.
5. Strong analytical skills and statistical ability – able to use data & metrics to drive improvement.
6. Demonstrable experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving.
