Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of learning for their students by covering lessons during teacher absences. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in education or those looking to gain experience in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
2. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure that students remain on task with their work.
3. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and procedures.
4. Provide feedback to the regular teacher about the covered lessons, including any issues or successes.
5. Support students with their learning and provide assistance where necessary.
6. Uphold the school’s values and ethos in all interactions with students, staff, and parents.
Person Specification
1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
3. Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to the varying needs of the school.
4. Enthusiastic about working with young people and contributing to their education.
5. Previous experience in an educational setting or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
6. Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
