Schools Engagement Officer | Part time | 30 hours
Salary: £36,574 - £39,733 (pro rata based on FTE of 35 hours)
Hours: 30 hours per week | Monday – Friday (with occasional weekend/evening work)

About the Schools Engagement Officer role:
This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in the Learning and Engagement department where you will support the development and delivery of the formal learning programme for schools at the National Museum of Scotland and online.
As a Schools Engagement Officer at National Museums Scotland you will:
* Plan, develop and deliver exciting and innovative schools’ programmes and resources at the National Museum of Scotland in line with the Strategic Plan 2022-2027
* Support the day-to-day delivery of the schools programme at the National Museum of Scotland
* Manage junior members of the learning team (enablers), freelance staff and/or volunteers in the development and delivery of learning programmes and events
* Lead on the development and integration of online and digital content in the schools programme
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the schools programme is accessible for pupils with additional support needs
Skills and experience we’re looking for in our Schools Engagement Officer:
* Knowledge and understanding of the wider schools educational environment, including the National Improvement Framework, Curriculum for Excellence, Sustainable Development Goals, Meta-skills framework and formal and vocational qualifications
* Proven track record of developing and delivering programmes and activities in a museum/learning environment for schools audiences
* Knowledge of how varied digital technologies and approaches can be used to engage learners within the museum and wider cultural sector
* Project management skills, including budgets and resources
* Experience of developing and delivering programmes and activities in a museum/learning environment for schools audiences
* ICT skills in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
