Functional Skills Tutor (St Ann’s, NG3)\n\nDo you have a passion for empowering learners and helping them achieve their goals? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team in St Ann’s (NG3), providing tailored education and support to pupils who are outside of mainstream education.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nLocation: St Ann’s, NG3 (with potential travel to surrounding areas)\nPay Rate: £25-£30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications\nHours: Flexible\nWe work in partnership with local authorities to support learners who require additional help to develop essential skills in English, Maths, and ICT. Many of our pupils are unable to attend mainstream school due to various reasons, including medical, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a key role in helping these learners gain confidence and progress towards their qualifications.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n✅ Deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills lessons in English, Maths, and ICT, tailored to meet the individual needs of learners\n ✅ Develop and implement personalised learning plans to support learners in achieving their qualifications\n ✅ Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to learners, parents, carers, and local authorities\n ✅ Adapt teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning styles and needs, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment\n\nRequirements:\n\nA recognised teaching qualification (such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) or extensive experience in delivering Functional Skills tuition\nStrong knowledge of Functional Skills curriculum and assessment requirements\nExperience working with learners who have additional needs or face barriers to learning is highly desirable\nEnhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one\nExcellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills\nA patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to teaching\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\n✨ Competitive pay of £25-£30 per hour\n ✨ Flexibility to manage your own schedule\n ✨ Opportunity to make a lasting impact on learners’ lives\n ✨ Ongoing support and professional development\n\nIf you’re passionate about education and committed to helping learners develop essential skills for life, we’d love to hear from you!\n\nTo apply, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.\n\nJoin us in helping learners unlock their potential and achieve their goals. \n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
