The post holder will be responsible for providing the vision for all Health & Wellbeing Work to support our agenda for working at the heart of the Rotherham community. To assist the Health & Wellbeing Manager in the coordination and delivery of the business plan for the department. To deliver a range of high-quality health and physical activity opportunities that are progressive and reflective of the needs of young people, adults, and older adults in the local community.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To be responsible for the coordination of our Health & Wellbeing Work and projects ensuring activities align with the strategic development of the Trust.
2. To coordinate project budgets and to identify and secure other sources of funding to assist in the development, sustainability, and growth of Social Inclusion activities.
3. To work closely and maintain good communication with project partners.
4. To maintain and develop partnerships including National Governing Bodies of Sport, funders, and relevant organisations.
5. To recruit young people and adults onto courses by targeting underrepresented groups.
6. To effectively design, plan, and deliver high-quality sessions in a range of health and physical activities that are accessible to all children, young people, adults, and older adults.
7. To lead the delivery of RUCT Health offer including universal open access, targeted, detached, and 1:1 support for young people.
8. To engage with people from various communities and to listen to, support, and advocate on their behalf.
9. To work with partner agencies to identify local volunteers from within the community.
10. To effectively supervise, mentor, and direct support staff, volunteers, and apprentices.
11. To imaginatively promote local sporting and health opportunities to participants in schools, community settings, and care homes.
12. To provide information, guidance, and support to young people and their families on a wide range of issues.
13. To deliver the skills to enable young people and their families to work effectively in groups, enabling them to learn, develop, achieve, and record accredited outcomes.
14. To ensure underrepresented groups have a voice and can have influence in the RUCST offer and the local community.
15. To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst those from disadvantaged backgrounds through high-quality engagement.
16. To assist in the delivery of education and promotional sessions which improve the health and wellbeing of the local community.
17. To undertake training and continuous professional development as necessary relevant to the post and further career advancement e.g., Level 3 or 4 exercise specialist qualifications.
18. To contribute to the continuous evaluation and development of all health projects.
19. To represent RUCT at all internal and external meetings when required.
20. To monitor all projects as required by funding bodies, often using online data systems.
21. To be responsible for the recruitment of participants where required.
22. To promote all projects.
23. To monitor and evaluate all projects, ensuring data is up to date and accurate.
24. To prepare and maintain materials for sessions.
25. To act as cover staff for all programmes when required.
26. To carry out administration such as: registers, reports, retention, and achievement data.
27. To work closely with colleagues throughout RUCT to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify best practice.
28. To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post.
