The newly formed People, Governance and Communication team will consist of colleagues from HR, Corporate Governance and Secretariat, and Communications. Although these will remain distinct specialisms, bringing these teams together will enable joined up delivery of key activities across the bank.
People leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. We facilitate talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.
We’re seeking a People and Change Consultant to join our team on a fixed term contract.
As a People and Change Consultant for GCIO and GCOO, you will work closely with key stakeholders including:
1. Business leaders, Heads of HR – E.g. for planning strategic people priorities.
2. CoEs and capability centres – E.g. for designing programs and projects.
3. HRBPs – For ensuring local level diagnosis, execution, and implementation.
The role holder will be involved in leading, providing objective advice and expertise on HR transformation projects/programs aligning with business vision and strategy for the function/business. The primary portfolio will be aligned to organizational change including but not limited to outsourcing, insourcing, offshoring etc.

In this role you will:
1. Review key strategic priorities and translate them into actionable and measurable plans for end-to-end implementation. Execute on established structured practices across stakeholders.
2. Own and manage complex portfolios of work along with planning and execution activities for the function/business ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery by building and directing workplans, timelines and budgets. Ensuring timely delivery and monitoring/reporting.
3. Design controls for managing and monitoring scope issues, schedule over-runs, risks, and inter-dependencies for effectively managing program delivery.
4. Develop key relationships and manage the expectations of key stakeholders including ExCo members, Business teams, Heads of HR, HRBPs, HR CoEs, and HR Advisors.
5. Partner with key stakeholders for defining, executing and measuring the effectiveness of people change plans while also acting as an advisor to Heads of HR, HRBPs and senior business.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
1. Extensive HR experience, e.g. a good grasp of employee relations, union consultations, etc. Experience across multiple disciplines within HR would be beneficial.
2. Prior experience of executing organizational change.
3. External consulting experience, and can manage multiple projects.
4. Critical thinking and good analytical skills, the ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
5. You thrive in a collaborative team atmosphere, with strong influencing skills and experience of engaging with senior global stakeholders.
This role is based in Birmingham or Sheffield on a Hybrid basis.
