Coventry and Warwickshire Sexual Health is seeking a highly motivated Lead HIV Clinical Specialist Nurse to join our dedicated team of Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Health Advisors, and administrative colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 nurse with at least three years experience in HIV care and a qualification in advanced clinical practice. The successful candidate will work autonomously within the service, delivering safe, current, and effective care to a caseload of patients, including prescribing and switching HIV regimens. You will have the expertise to perform advanced assessments and clinical reviews, making key decisions regarding patient care alongside HIV Consultants and the wider MDT.
In this leadership role, you will drive service development at both a local and strategic level, playing a pivotal role in the redesign and modernization of HIV provision across Coventry and Warwickshire. Working closely with the Clinical Lead for HIV and the Service Manager, you will ensure the service remains safe, effective, and forward-thinking.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
* Lead and coordinate the HIV Clinical Specialist Nurse-led clinic across Coventry and Warwickshire.
* Provide expert clinical care, including sexual health, immunisations, cervical cytology, and contraception.
* Perform advanced assessments, prescribing, and switching HIV regimens as part of patient care.
* Ensure a seamless transition into care for newly diagnosed HIV clients, completing baseline assessments and escalation as needed.
* Collaborate with MDT, BHA for Equality, and strategic leads to develop and modernise HIV services.
* Drive service development and redesign, ensuring high-quality patient care and collaborative working.
* Maintain open communication with patients, carers, and partner organisations to improve service delivery.
Support a culture of continuous learning, ensuring colleagues receive Protected Learning Time, Clinical Supervision, and ongoing professional development.
