Title: Mentors needed for local children in Borough of Islington

Sign up to become a mentor with The Kids Network in 2024! Make a difference to a child's life and gain experience working with a young person in the borough of Islington.
The Kids Network is looking for committed, fun, creative or sporty volunteers who live or work within 45 minutes of Archway, Finsbury Park or Kings Cross.
Our structured mentoring programme supports 8 -11 year old's with their social and emotional development before they transition into secondary school. You will help to build confidence, resilience and help your mentee to manage feelings through a series of fun and positive experiences and activities.
As a mentor, you will hold weekly one on one sessions of 1 -3 hours. The weekly sessions can be flexible between weekdays and weekends.
All mentors received comprehensive training before meeting their child. You are fully supported by our Programme Managers throughout the programme and will also get to meet fellow mentors through our peer network.

What is in it for you: You have the opportunity to obtain an accredited certificate in Child-Led Mentoring, certified by London Youth. You will gain valuable experience and skills supporting a young person by setting child-led goals and connecting them with their local community.
Time Commitment: 1 year of weekly sessions. Minimum of 1 hour per week, maximum of 3 hours per week.

Support you will receive
Wheelchair Access: Our training venue has lift access and dimmable lights. Training days include plenty of breaks and volunteers can choose to split the training over several days. Supervision and volunteer reviews take place remotely via phone call or video call, whichever medium is preferred by the volunteer.
