HR Manager Vacancy
Location: Sheffield
Type: Permanent, 39 hours per week
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 plus car allowance
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
HR Recruit is currently seeking an experienced HR professional to join our SME in the industrial sector. The role is stand-alone in the UK and will report directly into the HR Director based overseas. The role is part of the UK Leadership team and will also cover a site in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Although based in Sheffield, you will be required to travel to Lichfield for approx. 2 days a week (every other week).
Role Responsibilities
1. Manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
2. Facilitate the onboarding process and ensure all new starters are properly inducted.
3. Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, practices, and employment law.
4. Oversee and manage employee relations issues, in line with UK employment law (e.g., ACAS guidelines).
5. Promote a positive workplace environment that fosters inclusion, engagement, and wellbeing.
6. Support managers in implementing performance management processes, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and managing underperformance.
7. Develop and execute plans for talent development, succession planning, and leadership development.
8. Manage compensation structures, including salary reviews and benchmarking against industry standards.
9. Coordinate employee benefits programs, including pension schemes, private healthcare, and flexible working arrangements.
10. Work with payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance in salary processing.
11. Manage HR policies related to working time, health and safety, and GDPR compliance.
12. Provide advice and support on implementing change management initiatives.
13. Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR systems (Talent Mgr).
14. Generate reports on key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, diversity).
15. Support learning and development initiatives by identifying training needs.
Person Specification
1. At least 5 years of experience in HR.
2. In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
3. Experience in managing employee relations issues.
4. Experience with HR IT systems and Microsoft Office.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
6. Knowledge of payroll and benefits administration.
7. Hands-on with a can-do attitude.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
9. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
This role would suit an experienced HR generalist or a candidate who is looking to take the next step in their career. In return, you will receive a salary of between £55,000-£60,000 plus car allowance.
