Connect to your opportunity Our projects vary greatly and your responsibility as a consultant will differ based on the focus of the client engagement and your skillset, but could include and may require you to: Monitor security events and alerts to identify potential security incidents. Investigate and analyse security incidents to determine the root cause and impact. Support responding to and containing security incidents in coordination with the incident response team. Conduct security log and data analysis to identify potential security threats. Participate in the development and improvement of security monitoring and response procedures. Collaborate with clients to provide timely and accurate security incident reports and recommendations. Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations processes and tools. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security monitoring and detection systems. Participate in security incident tabletop exercises and simulations. Keep abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices. Develop understanding and context of client security landscape. Provide guidance and support to IT teams in implementing security measures and resolving security incidents. Work in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate your work to both a technical and non-technical audience. Develop threat hunting skills. Connect to your skills and professional experience All applicants must hold UK security clearance to Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) level. Candidates will be able demonstrate relevant knowledge & experience through a combination of qualifications and evidence of work history such as: Experience working in a security operations centre (SOC) environment or similar role. Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools and technologies. Knowledge of network security, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security. Understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001. Experience working in or with Government organisations, including the handling of assets subject to the Government Security Classification Policy. Knowledge of Government cyber requirements related to Defence and Security e.g. Secure by Design, JSP 440. Professional certifications such as CISSP or GIAC GMON, GCIA or equivalent.
