Ogi is a leading Welsh telco with big ambitions. We’re a network builder and operator bringing full fibre services to communities across south Wales, often for the very first time. Our Ogi Pro brand provides everything from telephony to managed IT services, alongside our high-capacity wholesale network ready to support the big data age. Backed by multimillion-pound private investment, we’re an employer of choice in Wales, creating hundreds of jobs across four offices. Join a purpose-driven team with a culture rooted in innovation that’s shaping Wales’s digital future We’re on the lookout for an organised and creative Communications Executive to support our growing brand marketing team. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced, award-winning company and help shape Ogi’s brand story across national, regional, and local platforms, reaching B2C and B2B audiences. About you… You should have an eye for a good story and will have built up some solid experience in a similar role or agency environment, looking for that next step on the career ladder. We’re looking for someone interested in building their skills, someone who is a little different and ready to play a key role in our team creating media opportunities that support B2C and B2B activities across Wales, at national, community and hyper-local levels. Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can bring fresh ideas and creativity, and who can ensure our campaigns are innovative enough to generate credibility, talkability and cut through across a mix of new and emerging media, including digital and community-led channels. In terms of skills/attributes, we’re looking for: Proven communications experience with a track record of managing media relations and delivering impactful corporate campaigns. Strong copywriting and editing skills—you’ll be able to simplify complex ideas for various audiences. Experience in managing multiple projects to deadlines and budget. A collaborative team player with experience working across departments and with external agencies. Knowledge of the Welsh media landscape, including hyper-local channels, would be a bonus. An ability to adapt quickly and work reactively to emerging issues. Confident in using a range of IT systems, and digital/social media platforms such as WordPress, Hootsuite and Adobe Creative Cloud. It would be great if you also have Marketing or PR qualifications or membership of CIPR/NUJ. The ability to speak, read and write Welsh would be a big plus, especially with knowledge of the South Wales area (though this isn’t essential for applicants). What you’ll be doing… You’ll support the delivery of brand-defining campaigns across all aspects of our marketing team and multiple platforms, helping to promote Ogi’s work at home and in business. This role will be involved at all levels including developing content, supporting events, and ensuring our communications cut through the noise and further develop a positive brand reputation. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers, while designing and managing PR plans in collaboration with internal teams and agencies. Proactively pitch stories to media channels, coordinating interviews and assets, and ensuring campaigns are monitored for effectiveness. Support the development of internal communications, working closely with the People Experience team to ensure consistent, accurate messaging across the company. Create compelling content with the content and brand teams, promoting Ogi’s impact through both traditional and digital channels, with a strong focus on community-driven platforms. Plan and execute communications campaigns to promote Ogi at UK, regional, and local levels, tailoring messages for diverse audiences, particularly in hyper-local areas. Represent Ogi at stakeholder events, conferences, and community engagements, ensuring effective brand representation, including outside normal working hours when necessary. Assist with reactive communications and crisis management, ensuring timely, accurate messaging to media and stakeholders during sensitive situations. Develop social listening reports and monitor industry trends, providing insights to senior management to help refine communication strategies and enhance media engagement. Support the creation of presentations and documents for key company-wide meetings and events, ensuring information is accurate and up to date. Next Steps?
