We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide full-time support to a Year 5 student with ASD and challenging behaviour in Stockton-on-Tees. This position is ideal for a compassionate and committed individual who is eager to make a real impact on a child's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 5 student with ASD and challenging behaviour.
2. Implement strategies to support the student's emotional and educational development.
3. Work closely with teachers and SENCO to adapt learning materials and create a structured environment.
4. Assist in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive interactions.
5. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the student.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, supporting students with ASD and challenging behaviour.
2. Strong behaviour management skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
3. Ability to build positive relationships and create a supportive learning environment.
4. A commitment to promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities in education.
5. Relevant qualifications in supporting children with special educational needs (preferred).
