Job purpose: Movement of stock through the department, kitting, receiving, and despatching material using current MRP system in accordance with the stock control procedures.
Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)
* Co-ordinate stores personnel as per the direction of the warehouse supervisor, working in line with production, shipping, and other needs of the business.
* Carry out all tasks in line with Health & Safety regulations.
* If qualified to do so, carry out Forklift operations as required ad hoc to the stores process, ensuring all FLT checks are carried out in line with H&S guidelines.
* Ensures the proper, safe and controlled storage/handling of materials.
* Package and process goods to be shipped/dispatched.
* Pulling material from stock and kitting material for issue in line with production, despatch, works order shortages & system spares requirements.
* Locating stock returned from sub contract, QA inspection and goods receiving.
* Answer enquiries regarding stock and kitting from all areas of the business.
* Control of stock adjustments within authorised value limits, elevating in a timely manner.
* Control and organisation of company transport relating to warehousing, goods receiving & despatch.
* Maintain Inventory by carrying out Cyclic Stock Counting in accordance with Forum Policy.
* Keep inventory records for stock located within specified area.
* Perform manual and clerical work in conjunction with the operation of the department.
* Complete all necessary documentation as required, (including timesheets, ECN and NCR).
* Perform other related duties as required as they pertain to material control and handling ensuring good housekeeping.
* Provide absence cover for the warehouse supervisor.
* Other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities: (Deliverables)
* Accurate input of information into the computerised inventory control system.
* When working on goods receiving, perform all physical and transactional activities for the duration.
* When working in kitting, ensure accuracy of picks to FIFO principles checking pick batch number accuracy, and as required perform shortage picks and housekeeping transactions in the system.
* When working on Despatch, check picks against kit list and pack appropriate for the goods outbound journey, taking account of any special requirements i.e. hazardous goods.
* If qualified to do so, carry out Forklift operations as required ad hoc to the stores process, ensuring all FLT checks are carried out in line with H&S guidelines.
* Fulfil ad-hoc driving needs to deliver/pick-up material or personnel as required.
* Carry job tasks safely using good working practices.
Education/Qualifications (essential):
* NVQ in stores and warehousing.
* Secondary education preferred.
Key Skills (essential):
* Accurate and thorough with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Computer literate.
* Forklift operation, must have valid driving licence.
* Numerate and detail oriented.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Must be agile and able to work in small spaces.
Experience (essential):
* Extensive experience in stores or warehousing environment.
* Experience in manufacturing environment.
* Experience of stores handling equipment.
* Extensive experience of warehouse supervision and/or leadership role.
QHSE Competencies:
* Maintain behaviour in compliance with FET HSE requirements.
* Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour.
* Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
