Join us as a Strategy Manager
* This is an influential role which will give you the chance to make a tangible and valuable contribution to RBS International's (RBSI) business, working alongside senior stakeholders
* You'll be supporting all aspects of the Strategy team's activities, with a focus on the strategic analysis of business plans, projects, opportunities and associated problem solving
* You'll be in a strong position to progress within the bank due to the breadth of knowledge and ownership of key deliverables gained in such a strategic role
* We're offering a salary from £40,920 to £72,050, depending on location
What you'll do
As a Strategy Manager, you’ll be helping to successfully manage RBSI's strategy and playing a key role in shaping the long-term direction of the business. You’ll be promoting continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to improve the strategy’s development in line with evolving techniques and best practice, as well as assisting with developing business plans and offering challenge to improve the quality of outputs.
Your role will also involve:
* Analysing business performance, competitor activity, potential business opportunities and customer behaviours, along with presenting this and solutions to senior stakeholders
* Leading and delivering specific major and high-profile deliverables in the team’s backlog, defining and agreeing a clear scope and objectives
* Developing and providing data driven insights and working collaboratively with stakeholders across RBSI, Commercial & Institutional and the wider Group, to improve customer outcomes
* Providing high quality executive briefings on external perspectives, including current and emerging industry trends and competitor activity
* Driving a strong aptitude for strategic thinking across RBSI, balancing bigger-picture thinking with practical solutions
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for a thought leader with extensive experience in strategic business development to join us in this role. You’ll have a background in business planning, developing strategic recommendations and influencing strategic change, along with an understanding of strategy development frameworks and principles. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing ownership of deliverables with working collaboratively with colleagues on joint projects.
As well as this, you’ll have a strong academic record in a numerate or quantitative discipline, or evidence of practical experience of these.
You’ll also demonstrate:
* In-depth experience of banking strategy and decision support
* The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders, including senior colleagues
* Experience of working across a large diverse organisation, establishing partnerships across all parts of a business, ideally with a global footprint
* Good research and analytical skills, with an ability to generate insights and break down complex issues
* Good storytelling, writing and presentation skills
* Good collaboration and stakeholder management skills
