Position: MRP & Production Controller Reports to : Engineering & Peformance Director Role Overview: The MRP & Production Controller will work closely with Planning, Operations Management, Procurement, Business Systems and Engineering, the MRP Controller will focus on and develop group stocking policy, intercompany system programming and optimization. Optimisation of MRP master data and part efficiency to improve system, reduce cost and lead times and provide optimised customer fulfilment. Support of ERP manufacturing & procurement master data, process, and new part set-up. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Key Accountabilities: Material Requirements Planning: Develop and maintain MRP schedules to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production. Production Planning: Create and manage production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity. Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels to minimise excess stock and reduce carrying costs. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system inventories. Coordination: Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth and efficient production workflows. Communicate production plans and materials needs to all relevant departments. Data Analysis: Analyse production data and inventory levels to identify trends, forecast future needs and implement improvements. Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production or inventory-related issues to prevent disruptions in the manufacturing process. Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues related to material shortages, production, delays, or inventory discrepancies. Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve MRP and production control processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Implement best practices and industry standards to streamline operations. Associated Responsibilities: Develop a production schedule in response to customer needs and requirements. Review and monitor work schedules and capacity planning systems to identify possible constraints. Maintaining inventory stock level in line with lead times System calendar management Resolving issues in a time manner to prevent delays in shipment of goods. Inventory & cycle counting support and metrics management. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and quality standard. Process trouble shooting & development of ERP system and production schedules. Other projects as defined appropriate including CRH based projects and initiatives. Experience and Training: In depth experience within a Planning and/or Supply Chain role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates must be technically advanced with the ability to manage complexity, communicate effectively and work collaboratively. High Level Experience in use of ERP systems. Experience in Use of Key Data Analysis tools and software – Power BI. Experience in Project Management. High level IT skills including proficiency in full MS Office suite, Advanced Excel an understanding of, and ability to utilise, digital communications tools such as email and intranets. Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping or Process Mapping. Experience in intercompany processes is desirable. SQL database experience is desirable. Essential Criteria: Candidates must be educated to a minimum HND level, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (Supply Chain / Mechanical / Manufacturing / Engineering). Must have stocking policy working knowledge. Must have 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain or planning. ERP experience – multiple disciplines including Master data, Planning and supply chain.
